Name: Colorful Pearl Mono Eyeshadow
Brand: Sephora
Size: 0.07oz
Price: $10

From Sephora’s website:
Luminous pearl eyeshadow in a round compact. Each of these pocket-sized shadows glides on smooth with a sheer, luminous finish that can be layered for added intensity. Each sheer shade is perfect for layering and highlighting. Enriched with green tea to soothe the delicate eye area.

What I liked:
– blends easily
– long-lasting
– doesn’t crease
– the packaging

What I didn’t like:
– not very pigmented

Sephora Colorful Pearl Mono Eyeshadow is available in 16 shades. I purchased no. 12, which is described as a rich lilac pearl. However, the color doesn’t really look lilac to me. It’s more purple with a hint of red and flecks of shimmer. It’s actually very pretty.

The eyeshadow is sheer and, when used dry, I had to apply quite a lot of product to get a rich plum color. You can also apply it wet if you want a bolder color. The shadow goes on easily, blends well and doesn’t crease. The color is very long lasting and I didn’t have to do any touchups during the day.
I also like the packaging. The shadow comes in a pretty small black round compact.

This eyeshadow contains mica, which makes it shiny but can be irritating, esp for people with sensitive skin. Another ingredients used to give a pearlescent appearance and as well as a texture that adheres well to skin is Bismuth Oxychloride, which can make skin red and itchy. And while it is true that the product contains green tea (Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract), it i listed  lat the bottom of the ingredients list, so it won’t really do that much to soothe the eye area.

Overall, this eyeshadow is average. It is  long-lasting and doesn’t crease. However, the color payoff isn’t great: it is quite  qsheer, but buildable.

Rating: 3/5

I think Sephora over here discontinued this product. I like the fact that it does not crease but with Bismuth oxychloride, a lot of people can’t wear it.

thanks for the review, I’ve always wanted to know how Sephora cosmetics work :)

Dao: I think you can still buy them on Sephora website. I was broswing their site a few days ago and I’m sure I saw them.
I was a bit disappointed to find out it contained Bismuth oxychloride. I’m not allergic to it or anything but I’d still rather avoid it when I can. But I know it causes negative reactions to lots of people so I thought I’d mention it is included in this product. Not many people read ingredients list when they shop, so hopefully this will help them avoiding something that’s bad for them.

Nikki: you’re welcome. Sephora products are ok and they are worth the money, but don’t expect miracles.

nice colour! this is my kind of shade. hey, don’t get sephora eye shadow palettes though. they are so tiny that it’s impossible to use properly. :)

Thanks for this! I’ve always wondered about Sephora brand cosmetics.

jojoba: it is really is a very nice color. Thanks for the tip, I’ll skip those then, I don’t really like tiny palettes.

fabulessbeauty: you’re welcome. The quality of Sephora brand cosmetics is good, just nothing special. There are lots of other drugstore brands that work just the same.
